Stainless steel spring – RFF AISI 304 Steel springs, also known as Garter springs are coiled steel springs connected at each end to create a circle. Most steel springs are typically manufactured from either carbon steel or stainless steel wire. Steel springs are a very common part of rotary shaft seals. The spring helps to energise the sealing lip and helps the rotary shaft seal to retain its radial strength. Over time the rubber of the sealing lip gradually loses its initial abilities to seal due to heat, loads or chemicals. The spring helps the sealing lip to retain its sealing capacity by keeping the sealing lip in its initial position.
