Elma 46 is a easy and very econimical instrument for fast failure finding on LAN and Coax installations. The right solution for the professional user who wants a little bit more, than "just" test the cable. By one push on the TEST button the instrument will measure cable length and full wiremap (pin connection) with control for both short curcuits, break downs, swithed and splitted pairs. A lot of the above failures can even be tested before you have attached your remote in the opposit end. The result is clearly been shown in the large display. The instrumentet is evenmore able to save up to 100 testsresults in the memory. Elma 46 is together with the numbered remote ID´s, perfect for determination of mismatched cable installations. A row of terminator ID’s is mounted in the patch panel. When the instrument is doing the cable test i the opposit end, it will show which terminator ID it is looking at. Elma 46 is equipped with a safety circuit which protects against telco rings and loop voltages, if it by a failure is connected to an active telephone line. Elma 46 is delivered with pouch, UK manual, adapter cable and terminator ID#1.
