Brazin is American Zinfandel at its finest! The wine has received sky-high reviews and gold medals over the years, most recently an impressive gold medal from Mundus Vini. A prime example of the grape and one of our absolute customer favorites. From old vines: In Lodi, the grapes benefit from hot, dry summers and cool winters. During the growing season, warm days are followed by cool evening breezes, giving the grapes a long ripening season. The grapes are relatively small but packed with intensity in both color and flavor. The soil, shaped by the river delta, is very well-drained and consists mainly of sand. The vines are old and gnarled, ranging in age from 30 to 80 years. The wine has been aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels and is made primarily from Zinfandel with a touch of Petite Sirah. It shows a deep, dark color and an intense nose of spices and coffee. On the palate, notes of plum, chocolate, and vanilla are revealed.
