2022 Warre’s Cavadinha Vintage, Douro, Portugal

Warre's Cavadinha Vintage Port has an outstanding deep ruby-red color. The nose is highly aromatic and fresh, bursting with blackberries and fruit combined with fragrant floral notes. On the palate, a seductive flavor of plums and cherries unfolds. From the Douro region – the most important area for Port wine and one of Portugal’s most renowned wine regions, named after the river that runs through the Douro Valley – this wine reflects both heritage and quality. Warre’s, the oldest British Port house, owns some of the finest vineyards in the area, including the prestigious Quinta de Cavadinha estate. Founded in 1670, Warre’s has from the very beginning been a pioneer in the production of Port wine and has long been renowned for its great, elegant Vintage Ports. In Denmark, Warre’s is uniquely distinguished as the only Port house entitled to bear the title “By Appointment to the Royal Danish Court” on its label.
