2024 Hillgrove Shiraz, South Eastern Australia

Hillgrove Creek is an Australian Shiraz, blended by our buyers in collaboration with our supplier in Australia. The advantage of choosing South Eastern as the region is that it gives the winemaker many opportunities to assemble the quality we desire. It also makes it possible to maintain a consistent quality from batch to batch and from year to year. The Shiraz grape thrives in Australia’s dry and warm climate, ensuring healthy and fully ripe grapes, which is an excellent foundation for creating a good wine. Hillgrove Creek has a beautiful deep red color, with a bouquet of ripe bell pepper combined with chocolate. The taste is dry and full-bodied with blackcurrant, licorice, and pepper, which together create a slightly spicy wine that still retains a touch of bite. Over time, the wine will become more “rounded” as it matures and the glycerin transforms.
