Drinking water in Denmark contains large quantities of calcium and other minerals in many parts of the country. Calcium water will result in lime deposits in heat installations, which reduces efficiency and, in extreme cases, can block parts of the installation. Other minerals in the installation water increase conductivity, resulting in corrosion due to ion migration.
The demineralization takes place in, that all the installation water, including the refill, passes through a resin that binds the minerals in the water, after which the water hardness, conductivity and pH value are optimized so that it is no longer aggressive to the heating system.
