ASSA ABLOY EL580 is suitable for emergency exit doors, as the interior handle always activates the latch.
The auxiliary latch in the lock case blocks the latch bolt in the closed position. The lock can be controlled by various types of electronic pulse-generating devices such as card readers, code locks, timers, and push buttons.

The lock is primarily electrically controlled, so it locks automatically after using the cylinder or turn knob unless there is a pulse or continuous signal indicating it should remain unlocked. When the door is closed, the auxiliary latch blocks the latch bolt in the locked position.
EL580can be set to either normal or reverse function. The exterior handle is electronically controlled. The interior handle always opens the lock. In normal function, the exterior handle opens when powered and does not work when power is off. In reverse function, the exterior handle does NOT open when powered, but operates when power is cut off. The lock can always be opened with a key/turn knob or interior handle.
Potential-free output for interlock indication.
