The tabletop has a beech surface (melamine) on both the top and bottom. The edges are made of ABS and are 2mm thick and have a slight rounding. The very basic core of a 25mm MFC plate. The board is classified as E0, it indicates formaldehyde content in the material and its release. E0 is the lowest level, E1 is the legal requirement for indoor use.
MFC/Particleboard is both the material of the past and the future. There are good recycling rates. Perhaps the material has been something in a bed and in the next cycle it will become something in a kitchen. Regardless, right now it's a tabletop and it may be for a long time. Robust against wear, shock and liquids.
A square tabletop fits easily and uncomplicated into existing decor. Cable entry is included as standard. The plates are delivered individually wrapped with reinforcements in the corners - so your plate arrives in perfect condition.
