When you turn the electronic speed control knob, the display number changes between 140 and 284. The digital display shows the number of motor revolutions per second. The gearbox reduces the revolutions to the correct speed on the spindle. The following calculation is used to determine the spindle’s unloaded speed:
Revolutions per minute = Max. RPM gearbox setting : 283.3 x motor revolutions per second (display number)
With this calculation, you can accurately determine the spindle’s unloaded revolutions per minute, allowing you to work more efficiently and precisely with different types of drills, drill diameters, and materials. Additionally, the core drills you use will last longer.
