Light curtains from Telemecanique Safety Sensors are used for personnel safety in machines. When the light curtains beam are broken by a person or an object, the machine will be stopped.
The use of light curtains help to avoid fences and gates where these are not appropriate, for example on conveyor lines.
The light curtains are available in the range from simple 1 beam cylindrical M18 sensors, to light curtain columns with multible beams in several heights. In 2019 we launched light curtains with integrated muting. All the light curtains are muting "ready", but requires a safety controller or muting relay, whereas the version with integrated muting just needs to add photocells on the M12 connectors in the bottom.
Light curtains are compatible with international safety standards:
Maximum safety level PLe, Cat.4 (EN / ISO 13849-1) - SILCL3 (EN /IEC 62061) with help from appropriate and correctly installed logic, like controller, relay or PLC.
Be aware that some of the light curtains only can reach PLc, cat. 2, SILCL1.
