FP, FPM or FKM(Fluorocarbon Rubber), also known as Viton®. FPM is fluorocarbon rubber according to DIN/ISO norm and FKM is fluorocarbon rubber according to the American standard ASTM. Viton® is the registered trade mark of DuPont Performance Elastomers. O-rings are the most common sealing element, and because they are inexpensive and simple, the area for application of O-rings is very wide in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Where working conditions and equipment are suitable, they can be used both in static and dynamic applications, but they are not recommended for rotary movements. APPLICATION Used in almost every industry but especially in non-moving machinery and in static sealing applications, e.g. as flange or cover seals. FPM O-rings are known for their resistance to chemicals and heat. They have outstanding resistance to minerals oils, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. Good mechanical attributes and good ozone, ageing and weathering resistance.
