Rotary shaft seals, also known as oil seals, compression glands, simmer rings etc. Rotary shaft seal type R1 PT is made of virgin PTFE. This type has no extra sealing lip. PTFE can be used within a wide temperature range and against very aggressive media. The rotary shaft seal is designed to seal against grease, oil and water in rotary applications. A standard oil seal ring is designed to run at a maximum pressure of 0.5 bar. PTFE is certified for food contact acc. to FDA as well as EC 1935/2004 and EC 2023/2006.
