Plexiglas - or with the more general term "Acrylic" is amongst the plastic materials with the highest diversity of applications for visual oriented purposes. The almost perfect optical properties combined with a vast number for processing options, colours, surfaces and shapes in sheets, rod or tubes, provides an almost endless list of application areas. The material is extremely suitable for routing, laser cutting, bending, thermoforming, bonding and much more. The material is often used in visual areas, but also for certain applications in the industrial field. sheets and tubes in Plexiglas XT was until recently approved for direct food contact according to EU legislation, however a recent amendment requires a new approval. Thus currently the material is NOT approved. Plexiglas may be used both in- and outdoor and excels almost perfect UV resistance.
