Shelly BLU Gateway Gen3 is a Bluetooth-to-Wi-Fi gateway in a compact USB-A format. It collects the signals from your battery-powered Shelly BLU devices — BLU H&T, BLU Door/Window, BLU Button, BLU Motion and the rest of the range — and makes them available on the local network and in Shelly Smart Control. Plug it into any USB-A port rated at 5 W or more: a charger, a router, or a USB outlet in the panel.
Most important for heating control: the Shelly BLU TRV can only use external sensors once a BLU Gateway Gen3 is present in the installation. If a Shelly BLU H&T is to supply the accurate room temperature, or a Shelly BLU Door/Window is to shut off the heat when a window opens, the link runs through the gateway. One gateway handles up to five BLU TRVs.
Note, however: if you already have Shelly relays or dimmers with built-in Bluetooth in the installation, they can act as a gateway for your BLU devices, in which case a separate BLU Gateway Gen3 is not required. It is relevant when no suitable Shelly device is nearby — or when you want to use external sensors together with the BLU TRV.
Set up and controlled easily through the Shelly Smart Control app or your preferred smart home system — Home Assistant, Homey, SmartThings, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The gateway has its own embedded web interface for setup and monitoring, and supports scripting for custom logic.

• External sensors for the BLU TRV: gives the radiator thermostat access to Shelly BLU H&T and BLU Door/Window — up to five BLU TRVs per gateway.
• Homes without Shelly relays: covers the BLU devices in houses where no Wi-Fi relays are installed to act as a gateway.
• Coverage at the edges: put a gateway in a USB charger in the basement or garage, where the other Shelly devices do not reach.
• Remote access to sensor data: temperature, humidity and door/window status become available beyond the home's Bluetooth range.
• Cross-system automations: use the BLU sensors' state in scenes together with the rest of the Shelly installation.
• Rentals and holiday homes: a single USB gateway makes a house full of BLU sensors visible in the app with no fixed installation.
