Shelly Pro CB is a range of DIN rail mounted circuit breakers with a type C curve that protect the circuit against overload and short circuit exactly as an ordinary MCB does. On top of that come overvoltage and undervoltage protection, continuous voltage monitoring, and a built-in motor module that lets the breaker be switched off and on from the app or through automations.
Important when installing: the Shelly Pro CB is fed from the top and has its outgoing side at the bottom. This differs from the way panels are often built in the Nordics, so check the connection direction before mounting.
This item is the Shelly Pro 2CB C16: a 2-pole smart circuit breaker taking 3 modules on the DIN rail, rated 16 A with a type C curve and 6 kA breaking capacity. This version has a dedicated neutral terminal (1P+N).
Set up and controlled easily through the Shelly Smart Control app or your preferred smart home system — Home Assistant, Homey, SmartThings, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The breaker connects over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Bluetooth and needs no hub. Shelly devices work 100 % locally and only need a local network to function.
Use cases
• A service offering for electricians: be notified the moment a breaker trips at a customer's site, instead of waiting for the phone call.
• Sensitive industry and production: downtime is spotted immediately, so the trip can be dealt with before it costs hours.
• Smoke and water: link the breaker to a Shelly Plus Smoke Alarm or Shelly Flood so power is cut automatically on alarm.
• Remote isolation before service: disconnect the circuit from the office before the work starts, with no trip to the address.
• Protecting sensitive equipment: overvoltage and undervoltage protection breaks the circuit if voltage moves outside the set limits.
• Documentation: the event log shows who or what disconnected, when and why — manually, from the app, or by tripping.
Installation, safety and connectivity
• Fed from the top, outgoing at the bottom. Check the connection direction — it differs from usual Nordic practice.
• 1-pole and 3-pole: no neutral terminal, but a built-in neutral wire that must be connected to neutral. 2-pole and 4-pole: neutral terminal on the device.
• Remote switch-on is only possible if the breaker was switched off from the app. If it has tripped on a fault or been switched off manually, it must be reset on site — the installation has to be checked first.
• A mechanical Remote switch on the front disables remote control entirely when the work calls for it.
• Electrical: 230 V~ 50 Hz, consumption below 3 W, minimum operating voltage 160 V~. Breaking capacity 6 kA, energy limiting class 3, type C curve to IEC 60898-1, TÜV tested.
• Measurement and logging: built-in voltmeter (±5 %), temperature sensor and an event log holding 100 events, with CSV export.
• Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Ethernet (RJ45) and Bluetooth 4.2 — no hub required.
• Terminals: max. 2.5 Nm, up to 25 mm² rigid and 16 mm² flexible conductor, 15 mm stripped length.
• Module width: 2M (1P), 3M (2P), 4M (3P) and 5M (4P). Housing RAL 7035, IP20. Operating temperature -20 to 40 °C.
