The Shelly Pro Modbus Add-on RS485 expands your Shelly Pro devices into professional automation components by adding reliable RS485 Modbus communication. It attaches directly to the expansion port of compatible Shelly Pro devices for a clean, compact and secure DIN-rail installation. Through the widely adopted RS485 standard, it unlocks new possibilities for commercial buildings, large residential installations and renewable energy systems.
The Add-on supports both Modbus client mode, where the Shelly device reads data from external meters and controllers, and Modbus server mode, where the device shares its own measurements and states with other systems. It integrates with BMS, EMS, SCADA and professional automation platforms and supports RS485 networks with up to 32 devices on the same bus.
