Product Description
The SITRANS FMT020 is Siemens’ latest generation of electromagnetic flow transmitter and the direct successor to the MAG 5000 and MAG 6000.
The transmitter is used as the electronic unit for Siemens SITRANS FM flow sensors and is developed for modern process, water, Food & Pharma, and industrial applications with high demands on reliability, flexibility, and documented measurement accuracy.
FMT020 interfaces directly with the new flow sensor series FMS100, FMS300, and FMS500 and forms part of a complete and future proof measurement solution.

Measurement Accuracy – Important to Know
In the new SITRANS FM generation, the measurement accuracy is defined by the flow sensor – not the transmitter.
• Standard accuracy: 0.4 %
• High precision variant: 0.2 % (depending on the selected flow sensor)
This differs from previous generations where:
• MAG 5000 = 0.4 %
• MAG 6000 = 0.2 %
Measured variables:
• Volume flow (pulse)
• Instantaneous flow (4–20 mA)
• Conductivity (reference value entered into the FMT020)
FMT020 cannot be mounted directly on older flow sensors without proper conversion.
Conversion from MAG 5000 / MAG 6000 to FMT020
Upgrading to FMT020 depends on the origin of the flow sensor.
• If the flow sensor was manufactured in France, it can be upgraded using a Siemens conversion kit
• If the flow sensor was not manufactured in France, it cannot be upgraded with a conversion kit, but a third solution is available
The country of manufacture is stated on the flow sensor nameplate.
The conversion kit can be used with older Siemens flow sensors:
• MAG 5100 W
• MAG 3100
• MAG 1100 (F)

• 7ME6940 1RF30 – Conversion kit for remote mounting
