The Square Die is used for cutting external threads.
The advantage of the Thürmer Square Die is that it only comes in 2 sizes, No.1 and No.3. There are 2 sizes of stoks holders for the square dies (oppisite the round die).
Stock No.1 for M3-M16 (inch 1/8" - 1/16")
Stock No.3 for M18-M24 (inch 1/2" - 1"). The stock has a seat for the sqaure die, which achieves a greater certainty when it is positioned correctly, resulting in faster installation.
This is a Stock No. 1.
