Lemvigh-Müller will continue its deliveries to Carlsberg in 18 countries

In 2019, Lemvigh-Müller won a tender for Carlsberg concerning delivery of protective equipment to the brewery giant’s European sites. An agreement with a term for three years will now be concluded. In addition to protective equipment, the new agreement will include electronic data interchange and several SmartLager machines.

The agreement on delivery of personal protective equipment (PPE), electronic data interchange (EDI) and SmartLager machines covers 61 Carlsberg sites, including 28 breweries, in 18 different Western European countries. Specifically, the agreement means that Lemvigh-Müller must make a fixed range of more than 650 material numbers available to Carlsberg. Carlsberg also has access to an additional 34,000 material numbers in Lemvigh-Müller’s range of safety shoes, fall protection, first aid equipment and the many other products that help make work in production safe.

SmartLager and EDI have more focus in the new agreement

As part of the new agreement, Lemvigh-Müller will implement more SmartLager machines at Carlsberg's sites. Everything from the ordering of products to their receipt, monitoring consumption and stocking runs automatically - without the risk of breweries running out of protective equipment in production. Electronic data interchange will also be expanded. The EDI solution will automate Carlsberg’s procurement process by exchanging data between Lemvigh-Müller and Carlsberg’s financial system with no human intervention.

Danish wholesaler – global supply

Carlsberg has expanded far beyond national borders since its founding in 1847 and is now the world’s third-largest brewery, and Lemvigh-Müller, which saw the light of day in 1846, has grown to be Denmark’s largest steel and engineering wholesaler. Customers are Danish companies within construction, installation and industry:

We have a special focus on our customers' occupational safety and have a strong set-up to support Carlsberg's global sites," says @Pernille Wichmann, Sales Director for Industry. 
She says that each of the 61 sites has its own login to Lemvigh-Müller’s online shop where protective equipment that is not in the SmartLager machines can be ordered. They are delivered from Lemvigh-Müller’s Danish central warehouse directly to the site in collaboration with an international logistics partner. Lemvigh-Müller offers support in Danish, English, German and French, so language is not a barrier.
