The Castrol Spheerol™ EPL series are mineral oil/lithium-based lubricating greases reinforced with EP additives as well as corrosion and oxidation inhibitors. The lubricating greases are formulated with
additives that provide good film strength under heavy loads.
The Spheerol EPL series are universal lubricating greases intended for a wide range of applications. The range ranges from an NLGI 3 universal bearing lubrication to an NLGI 00 fluid grease (see separate data sheet) suitable for central lubrication systems and grease-lubricated gearboxes. These greases provide good protection against corrosion as well as resistance to water washout, making them particularly suitable for equipment where damp or wet conditions often occur.
The stiff consistency of the NLGI 3 grease makes this product particularly suitable for the lubrication of vertically mounted components or components that are highly exposed to vibrations. The good resistance to both corrosion and water washout makes this product suitable for equipment where damp or wet conditions generally occur.
High mechanical stability – the lubricating grease maintains its consistency during operation and thereby ensures a long service life of the lubricant.
Good adhesion – continuous lubrication and minimal consumption, as the film remains between the lubricated surfaces
Good water resistance – the lubricating film remains on the surface even when directly exposed to water
Resistant to copper and steel corrosion – preventing rust and oxidation on metal surfaces
Excellent EP and anti-wear properties – protects equipment from extreme stress and minimizes wear on bearing components
