Calcium gluconate is traditionally used by hospitals as an antidote (antidote) in acute exposure / poisoning of hydrofluoric acid. The treatment is primarily aimed at adding extra calcium to the body to counteract the imbalance that occurs when fluoride ions enter the body and bind to the body's own calcium.
