VPL 15 is a ventilation unit with heat recovery for single-family dwellings, small offices and business premises. It differs from an ordinary ventilation unit by being equipped with a heat pump rather than the usual counterflow heat exchanger. We call this active heat recovery. With a heat pump you achieve a higher level of heat recovery, and the unit is therefore also used as heating source in low energy houses. VPL 15 has a reversible cooling circuit, which means that it can heat the supply air in the winter and cool the supply air in the summer. However, the cooling function is not comparable with that of an air conditioning unit. When the supply air is cooled, the air will condense. This results in a reduced level of air humidity indoors during the summer, which makes it easier to cope with high indoor temperatures. We therefore call it “Comfort cooling”.
