It is a general-purpose tape for protecting, insulation, waterproofing and DIY temporary repairs. It is used for jointing and repairing a wide variety of power and distribution cables up to 46 kV, and for making waterproof seals at polyethylene sleeve joints on polyethylene-sleeved telephone cables both above and below ground. It is used for insulating, waterproofing and protecting electrical components and cables and for corrosion protection of metal pipe-work. Also used for protecting joints against seawater in marine environments.
